Another Christmas card.....

I find myself so busy these days, and I want to get a head start on those Christmas cards, tags and gifts! A couple of weeks ago I was at an all day crop and was able to use my distress inks to do up this rather simple card.I am trying to keep the Christmas cards fairly simple, as it just gets so expensive to mail if there are alot of embellishments!

I have so admired Dena's ability to use the distress inks so well...so I have been on a mission to try and master them. I really love the distress inks, quite easy to play with! I also placed lots of glitter on her hat and trim.....

I am hoping the next couple of days to get cracking on some holiday happenings here on the blog! I am going to enter this card into the challenge over at Lady Bug Crafts....the challenge is...Christmas Sparkle! Thank-you Lisa for letting me know all about this challenge!

Happy Holidays-Mini Easel Card...

I was so inspired to make this card when I saw Norma's card a couple of days ago! She did a wonderful step-by-step tutorial which you can see HERE! What I just loved was the little circle in the middle to write what ever personal message you like. Now my only challenge was that I do not own any scallop circle dies, so I had to use my scallop scissors to get the effect that I wanted. I used one of my favourite LOTV images and stamped it onto watercolour paper so I could use Distress inks. I also added lots of glitter for her hat, trim and for the snow!

The pearl you see is one that Danielle sent me a few weeks ago....thank-you so much Danielle! The snowflakes around the edge was a Martha Stewart snowflake punch. I really hope you get a chance to try this out.....they are rather addicting to make, and not hard at all. With Norma's wonderful pictures of her steps she took to make these it really makes it alot easier!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!!

Pretty in Pink...

Flutter by Wednesdays has a new challenge this week, it is an open challenge, just be sure to have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation! So my little miss is my little fairy image!!!

For my card I pulled out my C.C. Designs spring collection and the distress inks. I stamped the little girl and after colouring her with the distress inks, cut her out and popped her on the fence. A little stitching on the card and voila!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Summer time fun....

I have not been the best blogger this summer...we have had the best weather these last couple of months and I am so enjoying every minute of it. Once fall hits you tend to hibernate a little more, so that gives me lots of time to make cards! I have some wonderful images that I can hardly wait to colour up! I am seeing so many of you getting a great start to your Christmas cards. That is something that I need to do.

I received this adorable hAnglar from a special blogging buddy..... I fell in love with this little girl riding her bike. I have been playing alot with distress inks...and sooo loving them.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Thank-you so much for popping in and visiting, I know how hard that can be this time of year!

Nice and simple....

I am so sorry for my lack of posts this past couple of weeks...but summer has just taken hold of me! I find myself running off too soccer tournaments with kids, driving kids to work and just plain ol enjoying these wonderful warm days! In a couple of months things will be back to routine, but for now, I must enjoy these outdoor kind of days!!!!

I have been really trying to experiment with the distress inks...and I must say it is sooooo fun to work with them. Now I have not perfected them by any means but it sure has been fun trying! One thing I am curious about, if you use distress inks, is there a favourite colour that I need to add to my inventory? Please let me know!!

Thank-you so much for popping in and visiting during these busy months..I so appreciate each and every visit!

a note for you....

I had some very special thank-you cards to make this weekend....as the inventory pile of cards here has really gone down. With the help of another wonderful blogging buddy (thank-you Sharon) she was able to get some much loved Hanglar stamps for me thru ebay. I did not have access to getting them and she was so kind to help me out....... I have been playing around a little with the distress inks....and I love them! I really have admired the works of so many of you in blogland and hope one day to be as good at working the magic with distress inks.
One of the things I love to do is finish the inside of cards. To tell you the truth, I think it is just an excuse to play with more of my images! I know you can all relate a little! With my wonderful order of Hanglars came this cutie...she's a mini....you gotta love that! Well I must get this little card out in the mail for tomorrow! So have a great week ahead! Thank-you so much for visiting, I just love reading all your comments.
I am also going to put this in the Lovely Hanglar Only Challenge which is: Glitter! I placed lots of glitter on her hat and her polka dots.

I'm hooked.....

After so many months of admiring the works of others using the distress inks I finally sat down and played...and I am so hooked. The key I find to working it really well , is the paper. I bought a really fine watercolour paper and I am now so addicted to "Distress Inks". I still need lots of practice, but do I care, no...bring all that fun on.

Janiel over at My Little Pieces of Art sent me a cute little box and said to have fun with it! Yahoo..another item to decorate up using my distress inks. Thank-you so much Janiel, I appreciated this little box so much!!! If you get a chance, check out Janiel's work..it will knock your socks off the amount of talent that girl has!!!

So...my daughter has been helping me out with a few things I have up my sleeve for my son's graduating grade 8 class. I thought it would be nice to thank her with a card and a little treat box. Thank-you Breanne...you have helped me out big time!!! And thank-you Janiel, I have totally loved playing around with this little box!
Have a wonderful day...and thank-you so much for dropping in and leaving a comment! So nice to have you come by for a visit!!!!

here comes the bride...

Good Friday to everyone...oh the sun is just a beaming here in southern Ontario! How wonderful is that. It is suppose to get up to +11 by Sunday! Lovin' that! Last night I was able to get into the craft room and make a little card for a bride to be....

I bought the C.C. Design Spring Kit and there was this adorable image. I just fell in love with her. So I coloured her with distress inks...which by the way I am really loving. I popped the bouquet of flowers just to give it a little dimension, then the fun part, which you cannot see in this picture, I added lots of glitter to her pretty dress!

Today my son is in a hockey tournament...so we will be at the arena all day. No crafting for this gal! It should be a fun day!

First attempt with Distressed Inks....

I am so inspired by those of you that use distressed inks and wanted to try them out. Just before Christmas I purchased some at Stamping Bella and did not bring them out until now. I have been somewhat intimidated by them I think. I want to thank Sharon so much for all the tips she emailed me...without her great pointers I would not have known were to start. Just before Christmas I finally received my Magnolia Winter Kit and this is what I used for my Valentine's card!

I love to complete my cards by finishing off the insides of them. Actually, I think it is just an excuse to colour up some more images!

It actually feels pretty balmy here...it is above the freezing mark. When I went for my run today though , it was still pretty darn cold on the face...tears were just running down my cheeks! I have to say it felt good ...if I miss a day I find I really miss it! Well.. I am off to make an early dinner as we are off to the pond for some good ol POND HOCKEY! Hopefully they do not stick me in net! Punishment!
