For a Very Special Girl....

Next week my daughter will be having her 17th birthday! Wow...where oh where did the time go. I hate that she is not that little girl with the pigtails, running around without a care in the world. Now she seems to be wanting her own space...meaning that now HER FRIENDS are the center of her world!LOL Well, to me she will always be my special girl.

I pulled out my beloved distress inks for this little hanglar. Now, I don't have alot of colours, so I went and ordered a whole bunch from Stampin Up. Oh I can hardly wait to play with some new colours. I don't know if you can tell, but her little shirt does not match my cardstock. I really do like things all matchy..but I just did not have the colours....hopefully my new order will help me out!
Have a wonderful day..and thank-you sooo much for popping in for a visit.

Little Hanglar.....

Things have been so busy around the Dol House!!!! Just your usual things....kids, laundry, taxi services and our house renovations....that my crafting time has just taken a back seat, which I really do miss. My niece has a 2nd birthday coming up so I really wanted to make her a special card.
Out came this adorable little Hanglar. I coloured her all up with copics and drew up some balloons, cut them out, coloured them and then added LOTS of glitter. I thought I would try using a new MS corner heart punch for around the circle.I think it adds a little flare. I punched them out and just cut them so I could glue them all around the circle.

I hope you are keeping warm!

Inside Pocket Card...

The weather has been very rainy so you will have to forgive me...my pictures did not turn out all that great. I would like to send off some cards this week and wanted to be able to enclose a little something in the inside. So Leslely...this card it totally inspired by you! As I just fell in love with the little pocket idea....

I actually found this paper at Michaels....I don't always find the best papers there, but this time I scored! See my little pocket...I am going to tuck a gift card or a note inside! I coloured these little hAnglars with prismas. I have not used them in a little while!

Have a wonderful day...thank-you so much for coming by and visiting!

Summer time fun....

I have not been the best blogger this summer...we have had the best weather these last couple of months and I am so enjoying every minute of it. Once fall hits you tend to hibernate a little more, so that gives me lots of time to make cards! I have some wonderful images that I can hardly wait to colour up! I am seeing so many of you getting a great start to your Christmas cards. That is something that I need to do.

I received this adorable hAnglar from a special blogging buddy..... I fell in love with this little girl riding her bike. I have been playing alot with distress inks...and sooo loving them.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Thank-you so much for popping in and visiting, I know how hard that can be this time of year!

Nice and simple....

I am so sorry for my lack of posts this past couple of weeks...but summer has just taken hold of me! I find myself running off too soccer tournaments with kids, driving kids to work and just plain ol enjoying these wonderful warm days! In a couple of months things will be back to routine, but for now, I must enjoy these outdoor kind of days!!!!

I have been really trying to experiment with the distress inks...and I must say it is sooooo fun to work with them. Now I have not perfected them by any means but it sure has been fun trying! One thing I am curious about, if you use distress inks, is there a favourite colour that I need to add to my inventory? Please let me know!!

Thank-you so much for popping in and visiting during these busy months..I so appreciate each and every visit!

friend....

Things have been so hectic around here, that it has been leaving little time for my poor ol blog. My internet has not been working so well lately so I had someone come in and fix it so it works properly! We are also putting an addition on our house that meant we had to disconnect our air conditioner....during a heat wave, and another is on its way tomorrow! Hopefully it will be hooked up by the weekend again! So in the meantime I decided to make a card up using my fun flock. I had a little mini stamp that did little leafs, so I repeated this on the left and right side of the oval, then added a green oval line on the top and bottom to complete what I wanted it to look like. I then stamped the sentiment which I love, in CTMH garden green ink. Then I glued some fun flock to resemble some flowers in the leaves, cut out some daisies and placed a yellow dot using my copic markers.

I had used my distress inks this week on some wonderful Hanglar stamps, so I thought she would be just perfect on the side!

I was out a little today to visit the fabric shop and bought some yummy fabrics to make something with it. I have an idea and will definetly post it when my project is done. I just wanted to show you how pretty the fabric was I bought....it has summer written all over it! Dawn...when I saw this fabric I thought of you! You are the inspiration behind this project!

a note for you....

I had some very special thank-you cards to make this weekend....as the inventory pile of cards here has really gone down. With the help of another wonderful blogging buddy (thank-you Sharon) she was able to get some much loved Hanglar stamps for me thru ebay. I did not have access to getting them and she was so kind to help me out....... I have been playing around a little with the distress inks....and I love them! I really have admired the works of so many of you in blogland and hope one day to be as good at working the magic with distress inks.
One of the things I love to do is finish the inside of cards. To tell you the truth, I think it is just an excuse to play with more of my images! I know you can all relate a little! With my wonderful order of Hanglars came this cutie...she's a mini....you gotta love that! Well I must get this little card out in the mail for tomorrow! So have a great week ahead! Thank-you so much for visiting, I just love reading all your comments.
I am also going to put this in the Lovely Hanglar Only Challenge which is: Glitter! I placed lots of glitter on her hat and her polka dots.

Fabric Paints....

When I first started my blog just over a year ago I never imagined the endless possibilities that could come out of it. I just love trying new things and when I saw Janiel's blog a couple of months ago...she did some painting on fabric....oh my goodness...I so had to try this out. So with the last couple of weeks being so crazy it just did not seem possible to sit down and try it. But last night I said that was it...the blog is a callin'.....lol!

I bought some fabric paint at Michaels and just started experimenting with a little onesie baby outfit....what fun was this. I had some new Hanglars I had just received from Ebay.....and as they say, the rest is history. Thank-you Janiel for inspiring me...this is not the last of this experiment...another thing I am hooked too.

I really hope everyone is enjoying their summer, we have been experiencing a heat wave which for our family is not so good...we are putting an addition on our house, which meant moving the air conditioner. Which means no air conditioning for us until the work is somewhat done. It was 92 in our house yesterday. A little warm...and that is with a nice breeze out here in the country side. I really hope to get back into a little blog hopping today. So nice of you all to pop in for a visit. I soooo appreciate the visits.

I'm hooked.....

After so many months of admiring the works of others using the distress inks I finally sat down and played...and I am so hooked. The key I find to working it really well , is the paper. I bought a really fine watercolour paper and I am now so addicted to "Distress Inks". I still need lots of practice, but do I care, no...bring all that fun on.

Janiel over at My Little Pieces of Art sent me a cute little box and said to have fun with it! Yahoo..another item to decorate up using my distress inks. Thank-you so much Janiel, I appreciated this little box so much!!! If you get a chance, check out Janiel's work..it will knock your socks off the amount of talent that girl has!!!

So...my daughter has been helping me out with a few things I have up my sleeve for my son's graduating grade 8 class. I thought it would be nice to thank her with a card and a little treat box. Thank-you Breanne...you have helped me out big time!!! And thank-you Janiel, I have totally loved playing around with this little box!
Have a wonderful day...and thank-you so much for dropping in and leaving a comment! So nice to have you come by for a visit!!!!

King of the grill......

My hubby has mastered the grill...that is for sure. So for Father's Day I wanted a card perfect for him. I was checking out Dena's blog...so love her creations, when I came across a great idea she did for her hubby. She made an apron card. How cool is that. Here is where you can find the pattern. Stamptacular Sunday has a great challenge this week: A tribute to all Father's".
Crafty Card Makers has a challenge as well this week: Cards for Men!

I used this cute little Hanglar image to place on top of the pocket which I made using a piece of white cardstock that I scored diagonal lines using my paper cutter. Inside the little pocket is a tag that says....King of the grill! I also bought this cute flipper to attach to the front at Stamping Bella.

The apron opens up just like a card so the kids can write whatever they like inside!

I am hoping the sun makes an appearance today since it rained all day yesterday. I hope you are having a great day! Thank-you so much for taking time out of your day to come and visit!

Happy Anniversary....

Yes....today is my hubby and my 20th wedding anniversary! Now I would have to say "STAMPS" say 20th.....not diamonds! I made this card using an image that a blogging buddy sent me! She is just too cute. I decided to put away the copics for this card and use my prismas.
I also will be making Frozen Toblerone Mousse Squares for dessert tonight so I made a recipe card to share with you all!

I took a picture of the magazine picture to show you what they should look like! No calorie counting on this recipe!
I finished the inside too....by just keeping it nice and simple!

For my recipe card I had these cute Itty Bitty Stamps from the Karen Lockhart company which I absolutely love and thought they would be so perfect for my recipe card. The little itty bitty pies are coloured with prismas and then I put liquid applique on the top for the whip cream, heated it up and then it puffed up nicely!

I posted the back of my recipe card so that you could see how to prepare it...if you are interested in making this wonderful LOW calorie recipe!LOL

We are having a little heat wave which is just awesome...so I hope the weather is great were you are as well! Have a great day!

because nice matters....

Happy Monday to all...is there actually a happy Monday? Well there is when the sun is out and the temperatures are wonderful...I so love this time of year! This time of year I can hardly wait to head off to the strawberry patches to pick strawberries for strawberry jam. Usually in june we can anticipate they are ready...last year was not a good year for strawberries, due to all the rain we had. But this year looks good so far!
With strawberries on my mind....and a challenge over at Papertake weekly asking for: shiny, sparkly and special, a card and a recipe was made! I used a Hanglar stamp along with one of my strawberries from magnolia to make this one! Lots of glitter too on the strawberry and flowers.

I just love finishing the inside of my cards...

Here is another recipe card made...I am so pleased to be getting these all done! Soon my recipe booklet will be complete. Lots of glitter on the strawberry and flowers! What would we do without glitter! Well I am off to get some things done. Have a wonderful day and thank-you so much for taking the time out of your day to come and visit!
Crafty Card Makers has a great challenge as well...Inside Out! They want to see the inside of your card finished too!

April Showers...

...bring May flowers! Now I know it's not April yet, but we had some glorious sunshine this week and now we are expecting a very wet weekend. So with that said, I thought this card would be inspired by our weather. I have not made a quad-fold-card in quite some time, and I love making these! Very easy, really they are! I had this little Hanglar holding her flower tray and my wonderful friend Carolyn shared her rain suit Hanglar. Thank-you Carolyn your little image completed my card!!

I added some Glossy accents to her rain coat and boots, to give it that shiny look. You can get this stuff at Michaels, Close to my Heart or even at Stamping Bella. I really like all the neat little
things you can do with that stuff!

simply pretty....

Good Wednesday to you all...Oh my, the snow just keeps coming and coming. I think I am just about done with winter. Come on Spring! Keeping with the spring idea... I thought I would use soft papers and soft flowers. I have been wanting the MS punch that punches out the smaller leaves and it is always sold out...so I have resorted to using my snowflake punch to give a little bit of the same idea...I hope it looks ok!

I love to finish the inside of my cards..but sometimes I just don't have the time. But last night while my daughter was out with her friends and my son was keeping me posted with the Hockey game...I was able to finish the inside too! Joanne , thank-you for this adorable teddie with flowers image! Had to colour her up as fast as possible!
Tonight is a big night if you are a Canadian Hockey fan! The Canadians play the Russians...so we are in for some good hockey! I wonder who will be our goalie tonight...we had a few goalie problems when we played the USA! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Take time to relax....

So sorry the picture did not turn out the greatest, I took it at night so the lighting is terrible!
Today I worked on a frame card that I thought was kind of cute! You cannot tell by the picture but I applied liquid applique to her dress and coloured this image with lyras!

* I have had some request for the tutorial on how to make these frame cards. If you go to
Claudia Rosas blog she has wonderful step by step instructions! Here!

I hope you have a wonderful evening!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge- Love

I am a little late with my post today...it seems my mojo has left the building! I watched the Super Bowl last night, then my son had hockey very early this morning and I just cannot seem to get my mojo to work for me!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge has a great challenge for us to try. They are looking for a card or a project that shows LOVE, and if you can do it without adding hearts you get your entry added in again for a second chance at the prize. The prize this week is a awesome Hanglar Stamp! You know how we love those !

My love for the purples.....

The weekend is here yehhhhh.... this gives me some time to get into that craft room and do some creating! Last friday I was so excited when my shipment of flowers came in...I had been waiting for so long. I still need to learn the art of flower arrangements but I am having so much fun practicing. For my card, I used one of my Hanglar Stanglar images.... I wanted to keep the colours nice and soft so I used my lyras on her.

Be sure to pop by for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge tomorrow. I am so excited to be their guest designer for this month. How cool is that. They are changing their challenges to every week instead of every two..so lots of fun!

Gone Fishing...

Happy New Year to all! It is so cold here. We are taking -14. Not fun. Yesterday my husband took our kids and their friends out and pulled them on GT's behind his fourwheeler..they had a blast! Today we were going to do it all over again...but it's just too cold!

Little Jessica.....

I have to admit, it was really hard to put all the Christmas images away and start bringing out the others! I loved so many of the images they had out there this year! But on to some fresh new looks! I am thinking spring and its only the end of December...can you tell...I am so not a winter person. I would love to build a house right on the beach and have breakfast every morning on my porch watching the ocean...not snow!

My niece has her first birthday coming up so I just could hardly wait to make her a pretty, girly card....How can you resist the temptation of the pinks and the ginghams! I did a little paper piecing for her dress and coloured the rest in with lyras and prisma pencil crayons...and added a little glitter to her flower!

Below is a picture of the inside of the card...I have been so inspired by so many of you finishing the insides of your cards that I had to try! Well, I am hooked for sure!
I used the following punches to make my flowers as I do not have many in my stash. I then used the sponge to dust some pink chalk on the edges of the flowers. Then added a green brad to the center.

I had to post a picture of our black fur ball. Christmas has just worn him out! So out came his favourite pillow and a nap was on his menu for the day!
