holly jolly christmas....

So glad you took the time to pop by now in the last hectic days before Christmas! Here is my last Christmas card done...well maybe my last one! I placed lots of glitter on this card but you cannot seem to see it to well on this picture. This image is from Hanglar og Stanglar. This post is going to be a really short one as my son has hockey so we are off to the arena!

Happy Thursday to all...Now... I know part of having a blog is all about the clear pictures and the beautiful displays in which your projects appear on your blog but I have to tell you... a photographer I am not! Love doing the projects but struggle with the appearance they may have on the blog!!!!

Below is a picture of the recipe book I have been working on for my SIL. She has hinted a couple of times to me that she wished she had something to put all her recipes into! Well...I had to jump on that opportunity to whip up a little something special for her! I added all my favourite recipes to it as well! I still have a few more recipes to add!

Many of you have asked to see the quilts I have been making for some of my family. I took a picture of the one that I made last week for my sister in law. I had a hard time putting a picture on the blog that would show the whole quilt! I hope I have been able to give you all a little peek!

I hope all your holiday preparations have been going well! It's funny how we have all year but we cram it all into the last couple of weeks! I may of course just be speaking for myself here! LOL!

Happy Monday to all...Is anyone else waiting patiently for their Christmas/Winter Magnolia Kit? I am so disappointed to have not received them yet. With Christmas less then 2 weeks away you would have thought we would have had the kit by now! To late to start essembling cards with those stamps!

This Tilda image is one from last year and I paired it up with a wonderful stamp borrowed from my friend Carolyn. Her and I had ordered some Christmas stamps from another company and I am so glad that we did or we would have nothing in the way of Christmas images from Magnolia. Thank-you Carolyn for letting me stamp the NOEL on my card for Tilda....

This little Tilda holding presents has got to be one of my favourite images! I coloured all my images with copics, added little bits of glitter and punched out some snowflakes with some of the glittered paper I have left!

Well I am off to get some house work done, go for my run and then wrap a few gifts up!

I am so happy it is Friday...the kids are both home for a PA day from school. I love when they are home...mind you I tend to be busy running my daughter to the mall and all her friends and then running my son off to hockey...so there is never a dull moment when they are around. I think that is why I love when they are home. The house is busy! One day I am going to miss them when they go off on there own adventure into life!

My card today was a little experiment with some ideas I had lately. I took a sentiment and just kept stamping it over and over on white card stock just to make my own background. I am actually really liking the look. I then used my nestablities to cut out the opening of the card so you can see in the inside. Inside is a wonderful image of Tildas fireplace that my friend Carolyn let me borrow from her new order she received last week. How nice is that! The fireplace is coloured with lyras and Tilda holding her wreath is coloured with copics!

I finally got to get a card on here! I made a quilt for my sister-in-law and I wanted a card to go
with it! I used my Whipper Snapper quilt stamp and Sunshine Design snowman stamp. Coloured with copics and added lots of glitter. I tried to pull colours from the quilt so that it would match nicely.


I still have quite a few projects to complete for Christmas gifts. Having said that it will be hard to post alot of cards on my blog for the next week or so! I will try to visit blogs as much as I can though....I love going to everyone's blog...the inspiration is just so amazing!

Nordic Christmas Tags...

I find that I am so inspired this time of year by pictures in Quilting Magazines! They have all the quilts displayed with all the homey Christmas fabrics... I am especially drawn to the Nordic prints...your reds and creams! So after being to the grocery store this morning and looking at the quilting magazines I came home totally inspired! I wanted to make my own tags this year. I am going to buy some plain red wrapping paper and some big wide cream ribbon and attach my newly made tags. I used Papertreys Snowfall stamps which included these gorgeous mittens. I then used the 2009 Holiday Tag Collection and paper pieced the snowflakes on the mitten and used scalloped scissors to scallop the edge! I love buttons, so lots of the papertrey buttons on here!

It is so nice to get these all done. I now have to finish off quite a few Christmas cards as they have to go over seas the beginning of December! I also have a quilt to finish for someone special this Christmas! Can't mention any names as she checks out this blog!

Snow pals...

Happy Wednesday...we are half way thru the work week! I received this adorable image from a
wonderful blogging buddy and I want to thank her so much! She knows I love ANYTHING with a snowman image...and she hit it on the nail with this image! I had alot of fun with this image. I coloured with copics and with prismas AND LYRAS! I added some liquid applique to make some snow and just decided not to heat it, I thought it looked pretty good without heating it. I added a little glitter to the snow drifts at the bottom. Now the fun part...I just received the 2009 Holiday Tag Collection from Papertrey...saw some hanging snowflakes images and decided to stamp them right on my ribbon using there pure poppy ink! Then to finish the card...I really like to stitch around the edges!
