A little Autumn coming your way....

Here we are in the month of September and the weather is feeling like November, cold and damp. Hello Mother Nature....please bring back the warmer temperatures!

Anyone for Anya has a challenge this week: BACK TO SCHOOL. I chose to do a Back to school note pad, a fall recipe...and I nice easy card using the adorable Shy Kiki La Rue!

As soon as the weather turns cool I turn to my all time favourite recipe for apple crisp. A wonderful dish made up of apples on the bottom with a oatmeal like crumble on the top. Oh so good heated up with a LITTLE bit of vanilla icecream on top! HINT: double the topping ingredients if you love oatmeal crumble!

Have a wonderful Thursday! Thank-you so much for popping in, I appreciate your visit so much!

Surfer Hut and card....

Anyone for Anya has a challenge this week: HOT HOT HOT ! So for me it is all about having a hot hot summer, which means to the beach we go! I used this adorable Surfer Emma to make this little card to go with my hut! I thought this little hut would be kind of cute if you were having a pool party and wanted to give them away to the guests with some sort of candy inside! I actually placed some jube jubes inside a baggie and tied it with a tag....which says Surf's Up!

I used Kraft Cardstock to make my hut and then a thicker tissue paper to make the top part of the hut. For the bottom portion of the hut I took chalk and made lines to just give it a little more texture! My poles are from some graduation decorations I am using. I just cut some bamboo sticks to fit the height I needed to place the roof on top! My signs are just printed from the computer and then cut to look like old drift wood signs. The surfboard is just cut from Surfer Emma to lean against the hut!

I hope you are having a great day. Thank-you so much for coming and taking the time to visit. It is so appreciated!

beach picnic.....

Isn't summer the best time of the year! No more heavy winter coats and boots....the temperatures are wonderful, the sun is out, at least most of the days! I love doing summery cards..... There are a couple of challenges this week that have totally inspired me......Anyone for Anya......Don't be square
One Stop Craft Challenge....Summer Breeze
This chick is so ready for the beach....she has her picnic basket and she is ready to spend the day just relaxing...isn't that what summer is all about!

Another recipe card to add to my growing collection! I am so thrilled to be making my recipe booklet! It has been sooo much fun...make a card and then I just try to match it with a recipe card! Too fun!
Have a wonderful day.......enjoy the sunshine wherever you are!

Off to the beach....

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
I was checking out the Challenge Blog "Anyone for Anya" and they have a great challenge this week: LOTS OF LAYERS, they want to see dimension on your cards. So I have chosen to layer up my Beach Card...I popped the surf board as well as popped the background papers!

I found this picture which I absolutely love. I wish it was my cottage by the lake.... I found this was going to be were my inspiration would come from. I love soft pastel blues and soft beiges.... it was sooo me!

I actually remember when we were kids at my grandmothers cottage we learned how to tie a sailors knot....so I wanted to place it on my card somehow! What do you think! Here is a link to make this knot.

Now I have been working on my recipe booklet so I thought what the heck, lets make a matching recipe card! Before you know it, my recipe book will be done! I used MS beach punch from last year to do the bottom, and my life perserver is from Magnolia. I sponged some clouds in the background of the recipe card too!

Have a wonderful day....and thank-you so much for coming and visiting!
