I totally fell in love with the Tim Holtz On the Edge die at Michaels (thank-you Paula for introducing it to me). I purchased it yesterday and then went to work playing with it today.
I used the adorable Flynn's Berry Happy Day image from Stamping Bella, for my recipe card. Coloured her with prismas and added lots of glitter to her dress.
Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
2 cups hulled cut strawberries
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp. sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. coarse salt
3 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
1/3 heavy cream
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine strawberries, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Whisk flour, baking powder, salt and remaining 4 tablespoons sugar in a large bowl. Cut in butter until
mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the cream until dough starts to come together, then stir
in strawberry mixture.
Using a 1 1/2 inch ice cream scoop drop dough onto baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, 24
to 25 minutes. Let cool on wire rack. Cookies are best served immediately, but can be stored in
an airtight container for 1 day!

Mmmmmmm, those shortcakes look delicious! I love strawberry season, too. In fact, we've gone "picking" at our local fruit market twice now. I'm now ready to go do some blueberry picking.
