Slowly but surely.....

....... the leaves will be on the trees and the lazy hazy days of summer will be here. Oh how sweet that sounds.  I played today with a new stamp that I got from Pointer Scrapbooking in Markham! Thank-you Heidi....this guy is so cute! I tried something a bit different for me. This girl loves her prismas and distress inks, but this time I stamped my image in versamark and then sprinkled a little black Ranger embossing powder, heat set it and then coloured with Tombow markers.

It is a bit hard to tell from these pictures that I actually did the hat 3D, and also popped up the tire. I really like doing 3D cards. Adds a little bit of a challenge for me! The hardest part to doing this card, was not adding glitter.....LOL!
So hurry spring and lets get going with the lazy days of sunshine and relaxing evenings! Have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Easter cards.......

Do you ever have this vision for a card and just want to make it work! Well, I have some special ladies that I wanted to make some Easter cards for....I had this idea of a box/envelope with an acetate window. A little box to tuck my Easter bunny card into. I had to play around a bit to get the right template, but with a bit of adjusting and redoing....it worked out for me.

Two of my special friends love blues and soft mauve and so with that in mind I started to make all my flowers in their favourite colours! I  also watercoloured the meadow that my little bunny is sitting in...added some white gel pen tiny flowers and lots of glitter.
Here is a picture of all four cards that I finally finished up with the envelopes to match!
Lots of work, but I love to take the time to make special cards for special friends! And since these ladies are beautiful card makers too, I know they will love them! They inspire me too with the cards they make. And that is what this hobby is all about!!
Have a wonderful week.

Special friends....

There is something about having some new stamps and a new pad of Maja paper that just inspires one to make a few cards. The only problem I am having, is parting with the new paper! I wanted to make some special cards for some special friends in my crafty world. So I got busy today....
I made this card today that I have no idea what to call it....I just kept folding and this is what kind of developed! I wanted it to have a ribbon to close it all in, in the end  that is how this card came about....I coloured with prismas and then added lots of glitter and added lots of Wild Orchid flowers.
Love the sentiment in the inside...It reads... If friends were flowers I'd pick you twice..... very nice I thought for what I have in mind.

I hope you have some time to get into craft room. Have a wonderful day.

Backyard fun.....

Oh I so remember at my grandma's she had this swing my grampa made for me, that  I would spend a lot of time on....It was just an old piece of wood that hung from an old tree. My friends and I would take turns seeing how high we could get. Oh the sweet ol good ol days! I tried to create the backyard fun scene....used some sweet magnolia's and a tent card idea.
I sponged some clouds in the background and added lots of layers of punched grass. I made a tree template and ran it through the cuttlebug using a  die that looks like wood grain and then sponged it with distress inks, walnut stain. I then punched lots of Martha Stewart leaves and layered them to make it look like an old tree. I want to thank my friend Beth for cutting my adorable fence die for me. I love the look of that fence!
I am hoping that spring will be on it's sweet way soon.  Enough of winter....bring on the sunshine and the warmer temperatures!
Have a wonderful day!!!!

Spring Cottage...

I tell ya....it sure is feeling like spring might be on it's way here. Lots of bright sunshine and a tiny bit warmer! I love it. It makes you feel like you have a little jump in your step again. I felt like doing some spring cards yesterday. So I finally was able to get into my craft room again and create. Now, I did have a lot of a inspiration coming from one of my favourite blog gals.....Dena! Yup, she went and posted the cutest darn cottage that I had to have a go at! I downloaded the template from Creations by AR Tea Cottage. Easy peasy I tell ya...the fun part was picking out the paper!LOL
I got my adorable little bunny from POINTER scrapbooking in Markham. It is the cutest little stamp set (thank-you Heidi) called Bebunni Celebration. I coloured her with prismas and pop dotted a few of the balloons to give it a 3D appearance...and of course...added the ol time favourite, Glitter!
The roof lifts off so you can add some chocolate easter eggs...how cute is that!
I needed a card to go with my cottage house. So I used the same image and again popped up a few of the balloons! Now, I must go and create. I have a few ideas going on in my head so I want to run with it! See what a little sunshine does for the mojo!

Come on spring....

Oh I am longing for spring so bad..... how about you! I am trying to speed along mother nature, by making some spring like cards! I sure hope she gets the message!  My friend Beth had a birthday last week and I wanted to make a card for her so badly.....she is the best card maker too... so with that said , I did have a tiny bit of pressure to make something special. No pressure from her, just me!LOL
I have fallen in love with this little park bench pop up die....I see so many possibilities with it. I even see some winter cards in the making! But not now! LOL I know that MISS BETH loves her Magnolia's, so I definetly needed sweet Tilda on here! I used my Martha Stewart 3 in 1 hydrangeas punch to create little flowers in the trees and my tree is actually a tree branch die from Impression Obsessions that I used because I did not have a tree die. I sponged the tree and the bunnies with distress inks. The only thing left that I have not done yet is add some glitter. Beth needs glitter, or is it, Christine needs glitter.
A big Happy Birthday to Beth! Your card will be in the mail! I promise, I just have to make the envelope as it will not fit into a regular one!!!!!

Happy Birthday Jessica....

I have a sweet niece that has a birthday this weekend. I couldn't be happier to make a card for her. She is a sweet little thing....and I love to make pretty little girlie cards with a little bit of my favourite colour added...PINK!
I tried to layer my image up a bit to add a little bit of interest. I really like doing that. I think it just makes the image come to life. Also, I bought this adorable butterfly die a few months ago and love using it every chance I can. I then sponged a little bit of Walnut stain on the edges. Added a few rhinestones and a bit of glitter her and there! I coloured her all up with prisma pencils...and the background is just dots using copic markers.

Have a wonderful weekend!
