Recipe for a picnic.....

Does anyone do picnics anymore? I remember packing up the kids and off we would go to the beach and do a huge picnic......eat and swim is what we did. Now that they are older it is different adventures, but I sooo miss it! But I still love the idea of heading off to a picnic. So with that in mind I love the idea of Cheese Cake in a jar...Hello! Full of yummy goodness! I think this would be fantastic by the campfire, come on, eating your very own scrumptious cheese cake. I think it might be better then smores!lol

I added this little recipe card to the recipe booklet! Yahoooo.....guess what I am making for this weekend.
Make graham crust according to the directions on the box. I just spooned about 1/2 cup of the filling into the jar, then added some E.D. Smith cherry pie filling to the top....as much as you like is good! Refrigerate for a few hours, then enjoy your very own cheese cake!

Hi Christine. This looks so tasty. Love the recipe card too. My eldest daughter loves to make Malteser Cheesecake but likes to eat it all herself. Still take the girls on picnics during the summer months when we go away for the day as it is much cheaper and more fun. Donna

I love picnics if only it wasn't so hot in south Texas most of the time. I often wish times weren't so high tech and families could enjoy things like that more way back when. Your card is adorable and so inspiring, these would make the cutest Christmas gifts.

Such an adorable recipe card! Love the strawberries! And the recipe sounds soooo yummy! YES, we still do picnics! When I was in HI we did them all the time at the beach with friends, swam, ate and had a blast! Today's kids don't know what they are missing! Hugs, J:)

Christine,

Your Cheesecake in the jar sounds like a clever way to serve individual portions. Your directions say to make the crust according to the box (I assume the graham cracker crumb box has directions for that.) But you did not say how much of the crumb mixture to put on the bottom of each, and how the cream cheese is to be mixed. My experience with cream cheese is it has to be room temp and I think an electric mixer would be required but I did not see a reference to that either. So please help and give this old girl better directions in an email preferably. mgun22@gmail.com

Thanks for sharing, Martha

Oh my gosh, not only do you inspire me with paper, but you make me want to cook up yummy things, too. My husband would go NUTS for these individual cheesecakes......oh yes, I think I need to add the ingredients on my next shopping list. THANKS for posting this, girlie!! :)
