Snowflakes Galore...Embossed & Crochet

I have such a love affair with snowman....and snowflakes! So I really wanted to get a little bit of a start on my Christmas cards this year using these awesome images I have! I printed these images on to Kraft cardstock and coloured with prismas and lyra pencil crayons. I then ran the Kraft cardstock thru the handy cuttlebug with the snowflake pattern. Using some cream ink I rubbed the top of the snowflakes to make them stand out a little...

I looked high and low for a snowflake pattern I could crochet up myself...but did not find a pattern that I really liked. So I took a few patterns and made my own "Crochet Snowflake Pattern" that I could follow to my liking!!
Here is the pattern if you are looking for easy peasy snowflakes.
Use baby soft yarn with a 2.0mm crochet hook.
Rnd 1: Ch5, join with a slip st to form a ring.
Rnd 2: Ch1, (2sc in ring, ch3, ) 5 times, join with a slip st in first sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1 (sc, ch3, sc, ch5, sc, ch3, sc) all in the ch-3 loop, ch 2, 5 times, join. Fasten off.
And there you have a little pretty snowflake.

I really apoligize for the quality of the pictures....not too sure what is up with that. I guess photography is just not my thing! If anyone has some pointers for me, please let me know!

In the next couple of days I hope to post my tags that I made to match. So stayed tuned!
Thank-you so much for popping in for a visit, I appreciate reading each and everyone of your supportive and sweet comments!

These are beautiful, Christine! I just love the look of embossed snowflakes on kraft!

....and btw, Hailey and I tried your Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe today. Manie ka-zanie that's a lot of chocolate chips that goes into the batter....but that's a good thing, you can never have too many chocolate chips. They're a hit....and half gone already, lol!

...I think I'll be making a recipe card for them! Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Oh my heavens.. I want to be on your Christmas list.. THESE are fantastic.. Each time I come to your blog I just smile. I love whimsical stuff.. I have to say that I always have to die cut my image first as I am horrible at it and have messed up a colored image before..

I too made your chocolate chip cookies.. They are soooooo good. I am going to do like Denise is and make a recipe card for my girls.. We are making a recipe box for them for Christmas.. Thanks for all your inspiration.

These are gorgeous Christine and your crochet snowflakes are fab. It's less than 12 weeks to Christmas now so I need to get a move on with my cards. We've just booked our tickets to take Thomas on the 'Santa Express' which is a 1 hour ride on a steam train and the children get to meet Santa and his elves. Can't wait!!

Hey Christine! These are really pretty and love those snowmen! The flowers make a very nice touch as well. Try having a light behind you when you take your pics. It may help brighten them up a little, although they look fine!
