I have been quite busy making lots of strawberry jam, so these cute little mason jars I thought would be perfect for my Canada Day cookies. I actually had a maple leaf cookie cutter but the size of cookie it made would not fit into my mason jar!!! I just made my Spritz Cookie recipe and sprinkled some red little sprinkles on top!
Spritz Cookies Recipe
2/3 cups sugar 1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup butter 2 tsps. vanilla
1 egg 2 1/4 cups flour
Mix all ingredients, except flour. Beat until light and fluffy. Add flour, mix well. Place cookies onto cookie sheet and bake 6-8 minutes at 400 degrees!
It is funny how a trip to the fabric store, just to see if anything new had arrived, can reallly get your creative juices going. I walked in and there was this delicious fabric just sitting there waiting to come home with me! Dawn, this next project was so inspired by you and that wonderful bag you made on your blog! So home it came....and I decided to make Canada Day napkins with tags...rather simple...but that is what summer is all about...SIMPLICITY!
Then I had to make a card to go with this whole Canada Day theme... a wonderful blogging buddy sent me this image which I just think has the whole lazy hazy days of summer feel going on! I am so happy she sent me this image because I thought it was perfect for this card!!! I stamped in white ink, Happy Canada Day, but in the picture it is not easy to see. Over at CupCakeCraft Challenges they have a great challenge: Strawberries and Cream! Love that theme!!!!
I also made a strawberry/rhubarb pie but it will not make it to Canada Day....already gone! I guess I will have to make another!
You know...you gotta love summer, eating outside, the days are longer, no winter boots or clothing...my kinda of season! I hope the weather will be fantastic for Canada Day and the 4th of July Celebrations! Thank-you so much for dropping in and visiting!
