hurry spring...

Now that Valentine's Day is behind us I am really ready for spring. The days have been getting a little longer and soon the clocks will spring ahead. I am so looking forward to that!
Just Magnolia has a challenge this week....LOVE! I know my card looks like a spring theme...but I placed lots of hearts on it! For my hearts sticking out of the grass I used a pin with a pearl on the end, punched out some hearts and then glued them on the pearl. The grass is made by cutting some blades of grass different lengths and then rolling it to form a patch of grass. I remember in grade school using this technique to make lanterns so I thought I would scale it down somewhat and make grass.
When I coloured Tilda I rememered seeing a tutorial that you could colour with copics and make it look like you used distress inks! So I tried that out as well. Here is the link to try it out if you like as well.

I hope you have a wonderful day. Today it is "Family Day" in Canada. So the family is probaly going to watch some great Olympic events!

Christine, love this card. What fun with all the folds. Your Tilda looks awesome and the grass is so cute with those little heart flowers. Very creative. I think all of us that live in snow country are so ready for Spring, so your card was a welcome releif, even if just for a few minutes. Loving all the Olympic coverage as well!

This is fabulous Christine, I really like the grass! Isn't it funny how you sometimes remember something you did at school and manage to adapt it to another use lol. Since I am catching up I must tell you how much I love your previous two cards as well. You always inspire me with your lovely cards.

What a beautiful Tilda. I love how you colored her - I'll have to check out that tutorial. Your soft colors are so pretty. I hate that I missed four of your posts. I scrolled down and they're all awesome. Your cupcake card is so cute. No, we never got our snow. Too close to the water I guess. My son, who lives about 15 minutes from us had snowflakes, and north of here they actually got snow that stuck, but alas, we did not. :( Hugs,
