Snowflake Bear....

First...I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! It has been a busy couple of days around the DOL household....I love the holidays but I also think it will be nice to get back to a bit of a routine around here, on the bloggaroonie! I want to take the time and thank you all for such sweet comments on my posts...I so appreciate your visits and look forward to a New Year of creations.

I have been asked to join the DT at Sweet Stop Sketches, which I am so excited about. A little nervous...but Korin provides us with such awesome sketches that I think it will be sooo much fun to create cards using her images! Here is my first official creation for the challenge. The image is from SweetnSassy Stamps and is called "Snowflake Bear".

Here are the rest of the team members that have made just beautiful cards using the sketch provided for us:

Korin

Denise

Hopefully you will be able to play along and post your creation on the Sweet Stop Sketches Blog .

I hope you have a wonderful weekend...stay warm !

Snowflakes Galore...Embossed & Crochet

I have such a love affair with snowman....and snowflakes! So I really wanted to get a little bit of a start on my Christmas cards this year using these awesome images I have! I printed these images on to Kraft cardstock and coloured with prismas and lyra pencil crayons. I then ran the Kraft cardstock thru the handy cuttlebug with the snowflake pattern. Using some cream ink I rubbed the top of the snowflakes to make them stand out a little...

I looked high and low for a snowflake pattern I could crochet up myself...but did not find a pattern that I really liked. So I took a few patterns and made my own "Crochet Snowflake Pattern" that I could follow to my liking!!
Here is the pattern if you are looking for easy peasy snowflakes.
Use baby soft yarn with a 2.0mm crochet hook.
Rnd 1: Ch5, join with a slip st to form a ring.
Rnd 2: Ch1, (2sc in ring, ch3, ) 5 times, join with a slip st in first sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1 (sc, ch3, sc, ch5, sc, ch3, sc) all in the ch-3 loop, ch 2, 5 times, join. Fasten off.
And there you have a little pretty snowflake.

I really apoligize for the quality of the pictures....not too sure what is up with that. I guess photography is just not my thing! If anyone has some pointers for me, please let me know!

In the next couple of days I hope to post my tags that I made to match. So stayed tuned!
Thank-you so much for popping in for a visit, I appreciate reading each and everyone of your supportive and sweet comments!

Cuttlebug Fun...

I have not used my cuttlebug in ages..so I thought lets get that out and try something out. I embossed the white cardstock with my snowflakes die and then took the oval nestie and cut it out so you could see the image I coloured with distress inks.
So now I can officially say...I have made my first Christmas card...yahoo! It is a start!
I then took a piece of cardstock and ran it thru the snowflake die and then cut along the edge to form a little snowdrift! The inside image is coloured with distress inks and then I added LOTS of glitter!!! My little trees are stamps released from Papertrey last year called, Made of Snow. Another favourite set! I stamped them on Christmas paper and then cut them out, glued them to the snowdrifts!

I have totally fallin' in love with the Lily of the Valley Christmas collection. I have ordered a few and I am happy to say...it will not be my last order! Especially when I keep seeing the gorgeous work others are doing with the images! Have a wonderful evening and thank-you so much for popping in for a visit!
