Feeling Blue?

Here we have another challenge from Just Magnolia...Monochrome! There are a couple of takes on what Monochrome is; shades of all one colour or one colour with white. I tried to use the shade of one colour look! I really hope I did it right! I used sweet Tilda holding all her Christmas presents and just tried to keep to the all blue look using my Lyras and Prismas. I don't know if you can see but I placed a little pearl for earrings on her ear. I'm thinking this card is just a little too plain but I just drew a blank when it came to embellishments!

Have a great Halloween night if you celebrate in your part of the world!

...the CHOIR....

What an eventful day I had today...our BIG black lab was sprayed by a skunk at 6 oclock this morning! Wow..did he get it good! So off I went to get anything to get rid of that smell! I finally phoned my breeder where we got our fur ball from and she said "LISTERINE". Well it was the only thing that worked right away! Thank goodness! It makes me mad that this happened as I am so careful not to let him out at night without me there, but this morning I thought its too COLD out for me...oh he will be ok...NOT!
I actually tried to find a little skunk image to make a card to reflect the kind of day I had!
But found nothing! LOL !

So here is my little gang from Stamping Bella called "THE CHOIR". I coloured with copics and placed lots of glitter here and there! I sponged with Versa Magic colour wheat.

I hope you are having a great day where you are!

Distressing...

The challenge at Magnolia Down Under was "Distressing". I found myself working outside of my comfort zone this week. I like nice crisp and clean lines and this challenge made things a little more interesting!

...sweetest holiday wishes...

I can now stroke another Christmas card of my list! Now this card was out of the norm for me that is for sure! I used colours that are not very Christmas like. I just wanted to try colours that I love together and see what happens...
I used a couple of stamps sets that I have to create this card. I used, Old Fashioned Christmas Set from Justrite, Quilters Sampler and Holiday Button Bits from Papertrey. I coloured everything up with copics. I used my Martha Stewart snowflake punch for the center of the card. I finished the card off with a little stitching around the edge of the card.
I have to say I am truly enjoying the blogs with all the inspiration they provide! There is so much talent out there!

Clean and simple...

Happy Sunday to all...
Over at Magnolia-licious they have a challenge this week to make your card/project clean and simple! So I thought this was something I would really like as I really like the clean and simple look to cards. Your card had to have : less then 3 layers, no clutter and simple embellishments!
Hopefully my card meets the criteria!

...the stockings were hung...

I am so glad it's Saturday, yeh, I look so forward to the weekends! I am sure you all do as well!
This morning I got up really early to make my first Christmas card! I have 50 or so more to do! But at least it is a start! I pulled out my Elzybells stamp from last year that I never coloured yet, so I was so excited to get the prismas out and yes...the GLITTER! If I can put glitter on a card, let's just say look out! I find that my pictures just don't show well as to how much glitter I put on my cards! I stitched up my card as well and popped up the sentiment. A rather simple card, but I really like simplicity when making alot of cards!

I really hope that when you look out your window today you don't have any snow yet! This image is reserved only for Christmas morning! LOL!

Holiday Planner....

This is a Holiday Planner that I made for my sister-in-law and her family to keep her organized for the Holidays this year. I am actually in the process of making myself one as well. For the inside of my planner, I made a little pocket to put all sorts of things inside. I will put Christmas receipts, my familys Christmas Wish Lists and I will soon add some hostess/thank-you cards. I also added a notepad for the inside!
I bought a lined notepad found at any dollar store or office supply store. I embellished the front cover with Papertrey Boards & Beams stamp set and the Home for the Holidays stamp set. I did my Wish List cards with Karen Lockharts Itty Bitty Mitten stamp and used my Justrite personalize stamp to put individual names on each one!

A Quilt and an Easel Card...

I finally got my niece's quilt finished for her for Christmas! A little work but she is certainly worth it! I chose pinks and greens for my colours and then thought I would make her a card to go with it! I decide to make her an "Easel Card". I have seen a few on some blogs and thought it would be fun to try! Of course..everything had to match! I had a really hard time taking some nice photos because of lighting! It was very dreary here and that made it so hard to take a nice picture!

Another notepad and a card!

Good Morning Everyone! I woke up to a beautiful but a cold morning! At least the sun is shinning! We will take that after having so much rain! I have been busy making my Christmas gifts this past week. I want to get a good head start...because before you know it Christmas
will be here. I do not like to feel stressed out at that time of year, as it's suppose to be fun
making gifts, not stressful! So if I start early..I should be ok. Right now, I am in the beginnings of making my niece a beautiful quilt, totally inspired by my quilt card! So that may take me away from making cards for a couple of days. I will definetly post it when I am done.
Today I made a card and a note pad to match from the Whipper Snapper Design Stamp called Spirit of Christmas. I coloured with prismas and lyras and yes...I added lots of glitter! I like to stitch around my cards as I think it gives it that nice finished look!
Hope you have a great day and have sunshine where you are!

Holiday Gift Tags....

I was so inspired by Papertreys release this month that I had to do some Holiday Gift Tag sets using my favourite stamp set from them, " Made of Snow". You have seen me use this stamp set so many times...it is so handy for so many of my projects! I paper pieced the snowman scrafs and coloured with copics the mitts! I got these little bags from a restaurant in town that puts there cookies into them and just made them my own by embossing them with snowflakes. I made the gift tags to put a gift card on them for gifts at Christmas! Hope I have inspired you as much as Papertrey inspires me!
Have a great weekend!

Marianne is giving away blog candy on her blog. If you have a chance pop over and check out her blog!

Winter Quilt!

When I saw this stamp set from Whipper Snapper Designs
I knew I had to have it! A little bit of work to colour up, but I
think it was worth it! I used lyras and prisma pencil crayons.
I did a little sewing around the edge of the card. What's a
Quilt card without some stitching!

Get your mittens ready!

Here we are heading into a cold frosty night! I don't know about you, but I am not ready for this weather yet! So with this weather in mind...all I could think of, was my nice warm mitts that I need to get out! For this card I embossed the top of the card and the bottom and then stamped with Itty Bitty Karen Lockhart stamps. I then coloured with copics and sponged the edges of my card with beige chalk. I used my papertrey ribbon with some buttons I had to match the images that I coloured! Well...I'm off to put the fireplace on and make some cards!!!

A trip to the Apple Orchid!

Yeh , it's Saturday of a Long Thanksgiving Weekend! The sun is finally shinning here!
Today I did a card for the Just Magnolia challenge which was to follow a sketch. I love
following a sketch, it takes a little bit of the thinking out of it! I bought this new October
Afternoon paper from Stamping Bella and love it for this theme! I used a little liquid applique
for the apples. This stuff is awesome in my eyes, it gives a shine to my apples!
Well..I'm off to make some things for out Thanksgiving dinner today and then off to hockey
with my son! Have a fantastic day..and I hope the sun is shinning were you are!

Cross Stitching?

I have tried something a little different for this fall card. I actually stamped my image onto Cross Stitch fabric and then coloured it in with copics. I cut it to the size I wanted for my card and then frayed the edges so it would give it that old fashioned look to it! I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the image! This was alot faster then actual cross stitching! Maybe not the most beautiful results as cross stitching but it certainly was fun to try!

Happy Thanksgiving...

Before we know it we are going to be into a long weekend! Yahhh! We are celebrating Thanksgiving weekend...So in celebration of our holiday I made a Thanksgiving card. I
coloured up Tilda with copics, and I even did her skin and hair with copics, I usually use
lyra pencil crayons because I just feel more comfortable with them, but I decided to take
a chance and try the copics! I definetly need more practice that is for sure!

Old Fashioned Christmas...

I finally was able to do a card for the Winter Wonderland challenge! The challenge was sleigh bells! So I used my justrite stamp set that I have not had a chance to colour up and thought it was perfect for this challenge. I gold embossed the sleigh with gold embossing powder from CTMH, and then coloured in the image with lyras and primas pencils! I used my "swirls" diecut for the white background. I then used my scallop scissors to do a burgundy scallop around the image! If you get a chance pop over to winter wonderlands blog and join in on the fun!

Just a note..

Happy Sunday Everyone...the weather is still not cooperating here, just gloomy and rainy! Last year at this time we were still wearing shorts it was so nice! Only in Ontario do you get this kind of unpredictable weather. This is probaly why I am making so many winter cards...I know what is coming. "WINTER". This card was made with one of my Elzybells stamps from last year. I coloured her with copics and added the liquid applique around her coat and the top of her hat. I added a little around her to make it look like snow falling.
Well, I am off to check out Stamptaculars challenge and see what I can come up with for that!
Have a great day!

Crochet flowers...

Happy World Card Making Day!
Does this mean it is official, you can be in your creative space all day with out any interruptions! Yehhhh!!!! Well maybe after taking my daughter to the mall with her girlfriends, taking my son to hockey practice and all the other things that need to be done!LOL
Todays card is for the Just Magnolia challenge which was to create "homemade" flowers for your card. So I went to the handy dandy site at Papertrey were they have a turtorial on how to make crocheted flowers. As you can see I only made one because I did not have enough of the same colour to make two more like I wanted too! Well, after dropping off my daughter at the mall I am going to head to Michaels to buy some more embrodery floss to make more flowers! I also need to buy the right size crochet hook, as I did not have the right size for this one. Hope it looks ok!
Have a great Card Making Day!

Snowed in...

Yeh...it's finally Friday. The weather is certainly not beautiful fall weather, here in Ontario it is rainy, damp and cold! Yuck! I'm packing my stuff and moving to were it is warm and sunny!
The weather is probaly why I am making this wintery card. This stamp is from Whipper Snapper's Winter collection. I coloured with copics and added some liquid applique for the snow. I also stamped snowflakes on the top part of the card and then for the bottom ran the snowflakes template thru my cuttlebug!

Have a great weekend!

Note Pads...

Fall is definetly here....This notepad I did for the Stamping Bella Challenge. They just wanted you to do a Halloween theme, so instead of doing a card I thought this would be handy! I love making lots of these at Christmas. They are great hostess gifts, teachers and even for yourself to keep track of your things to do during the busy holiday season!

Stamp: Stamping Bella
Paper: Papertrey cardstock
* I have been asked how I made this little note pad. I went to the dollar store and bought some inexpensive note pads and then went to a printing company to have them cut them in half. So these note pads measured 3" wide and 9" long. Then I took kraft cardstock from Papertrey which is extra strong ( you can use any strong cardstock for the cover) and cut it to measure, 6 1/2" wide and 9" long. You then score it were it will go around your pad at 3" and 3 1/2". You then cut a strip of paper for the top to wrap at the top to hold it together and then glue only that strip to the cardstock. Believe it or not it will hold. Then just decorate any way you fancy! Hope this is clear enough to follow!
