Peach Pie...

Good Morning Everyone..a rather cool one, but at least it is not raining! I wish summer would come back! For my post today I did the Magnolia Down Under Challenge, which was to have buttons on your card/project! So I thought I would incorporate my "Peach Pie" recipe!

Below is the inside of my card..on the flip side (which you cannot see) is the rest of the recipe!
I have made this Peach Pie and it has become a favourite. I was out today at the grocery store and I was quite surprised to see that Ontario Peaches are still on the shelves! Yeeh! Here is the recipe for those that want to try something yummy...Just remember to add a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream to the plate when serving it up!
Peach Pie
Short Bread Crust:
1 1/3 flour
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 tbsp. water
Peach Filling:
5 cups sliced peaches
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
Topping:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup soft butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Crust: Combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add water, mixing until dough holds together. Roll dough into a flat circle. Then press mixture firmly into
9 inch deep dish.
Filling: Combine peaches and lemon juice; sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and flour, toss to coat evenly. Just before baking, spoon into prepared pie shell and sprinkel with streusel topping.
Topping: Blend flour, sugar and butter with a fork.
Bake in lower oven at 400 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and bake for 30 minutes!
Enjoy!

Pretty in Pink/Grey!

Well..another rainy overcast day in Ontario! Sorry my picture is not very clear, not alot of natural light to make my pictures clear! Darn!
This weeks challenge over at Just Magnolia is a colour combo. Grey and Pink with the option of adding Black! So I coloured up Tilda cross country skiing! I added a sentiment from Papertrey stamps. Punched out my snowflakes with the MS punch and the Marvy Punch. I seem to make alot of cards just very simple! But that is me...just simple!
Hopefully it is nice and sunny and maybe even warm were you are!

Gift Box & Card!

Finally...I have a chance to get to the scrapbooking room and create! Life just seems just so busy lately and I got so behind in all my challenges that I love to do...I also did not get to visit all the blogs. I really missed that, as that is were all my inspiration comes from! So now I hope to be back into the swing of things....until the housework piles up, dinners to make, baking to do, hockey games to get too, well you all know what I mean!!!

Here is my entry for the WinterWonderland Challenge! This week they wanted us to create a gift bag, a gift box or just decorate your own wrapping paper! Well I went for the gift box with a card to match. I used my just rite stamp set to make this project. I embossed the sentiment around the hot chocolate mug with white embossing powder, used my MS snowflake punch for the bottom of the box, papertrey ribbon with some silver ribbon I had hanging around! For the card I ran a small piece of white cardstock thru the cuttlebug using my snowflake template.
Well I am off to catch up on all the challenges at Magnolia Down Under which is to include buttons on your card, Just Magnolia which is grey & pink with black being optional, Cute Card Thursday is Buzz off...Black and Yellow combo and last but not least is Stamptacular's Challenge, they are calling for a tag!

Hot Chocolate- Week #17

Winter Wonderland has a new challenge this week...Hot Chocolate!
So for this challenge I pulled out the Sugar Nellie stamp called "Hug in a Mug".
I stamped her on a circle nestabilities, then cut around the circle with blue cardstock using just my scalloped scissors, used my papertrey ribbon and added a little embellishment that I got from Stampin Up! I used fun flock on her jacket cuffs!

Anything but a card....

The challenge at Stamptacular is to create anything but a card. I have been on a bit of a roll using my bind it machine! So I thought I would make another recipe booklet! I now have to start adding in all my favourite recipes for Christmas. I can't wait to decorate up the recipe cards! For this project I used my Justrite stamp set. I really enjoy using the justrite stamps as you can personalize to anything you wish! My little bitty mitts are from Karen Lockharts collection of itty bitty stamps. The background was run thru my cuttlebug with the swirls template. The recipe tabs are just using a 1 1/2" circle punch and then using my scallop scissors I cut around the circle using the red cardstock.
Enjoy your Sunday!

because nice matters...

So here we are and its the WEEKEND...Yeh! We have hockey season starting this weekend for my son and I am really looking forward to it! It should be a great year! This card is for the Just Magnolia challenge which has provided us with a great sketch! I really like sketches as it really helps you out a little when you are stuck with an idea! I apoligize for the poor picture. I used my little Tilda holding an apple pie, and added some Karen Lockhart apple stamps at the bottom of the card. I also added some liquid glass to make my apples appear to be nice and shiney! My sentiment is from Stampin Up!
Have a fantastic weekend..I hope the weather is fantastic wherever you are! I know some of my blogging friends from Down Under are coming into spring... they are so lucky..because then they have a wonderful summer to look forward too!

Autumn Pie...

Yeh...it's Friday!
Cute Card Thursday has a great challenge for us this week. They want to see a hidden element/gift in your card or project. So my little treasure is my Autumn Pie recipe tucked inside a fall card!

Polky Apple...

Happy Thursday everyone...Today is suppose to be a beautiful day! Stamping Bellas sketch for this week was nice and simple! So I just used my "polky apple" image for this card. I thought with most everyone going back to school last week it was a perfect image to use!

Also...I just wanted to let you know that one of my favourite blog ladies, Danielle, has an awesome project she has done as well as awesome blog candy to give away to some lucky person. Please do check it out!

Hot Chocolate & Marshmallows!

Last night I was working on this little project and I finally had a little time today to finish it off! I made a little package for my hot chocolate package and some marshmallows! I made a little insert with a window so you could see the contents. I used my Whipper Snapper snowman and stamped him in the circle!
I have been getting alot of use out of my justrite stamp set, as it allows me to personalize it just the way I like! So I stamp out the lettering " Hot Chocolate & Marshmallows"...

Here is the inside of my little creation...I thought this might be kind of cute for teachers gifts at Christmas time. I may have to make some more of these and then maybe have them with speciality coffees inside! I would love to make a card to match...

Another summer card!

Today my card is inspired by my front porch chairs that I have. In the summer we sit out there and just relax! Can you see why I don't want winter to come! Stamptacular Sunday Challenge this week, was to follow a sketch! So out came my Karen Lockhart stamps.... I coloured them with copics and then used my Colourless Blender to place the dots on the chair pad. The colourless blender pen takes away the colour leaving a lighter version! I just purchased some Stampin Up ribbon and paper, which I just love! Thank-you Tanya! I hope making this card makes the summer stay just a little bit longer!

Christmas Recipe Booklet....

I was so excited about the challenge over at Magnolia Down Under! It was to create anything but a card! I do alot of baking at Christmas and have always wanted to put together a little
recipe like booklet, that would hold just my recipes, that I use at Christmas. This way they are all together. I think I may make one for Summer recipes... you know your strawberry jams, your summer docktails (drinks that are made just for the cottage dock).
I am just loving my Justrite stamp set. I find it really makes it to what you want! One thing I have not used is my binding machine. I actually thought it looked to complicated to figure out, so I kept putting it off. Well...I finally figured it out this morning and that is how I made the recipe booklet. It was actually very easy!

last summer card...

This may be my last summer card for this year! I'm hoping the weather stays nice for as long as possible! Since I do not have a scalloped circle die I thought I would try to make a circle card using my scallop scissors. Now it is no near perfect, but I got the effect I wanted to try! I used my Karen Lockhart strawberry stamp, MS punch and some old ribbon I had and made up this little summery card! I coloured with copics and then sponged with the versa magic chalk.

Here is a picture of the inside of the card. I just kept it very simple.
I hope you have a great Sunday. I am now off to check out Stamptaculars Sunday challenge, Magnolia Down Unders Challenge and last but not least Winter Wonderlands challenge. It could be a busy day creating!

All bundled up...

I have been so inspired lately to do winter cards. The funny thing is I am not a winter person at all... but looking at all the blogs and stamp companys that are starting to display there winter/christmas collections, does not make it any easier to put it off any longer! This week
Just Magnolia has a challenge that must have embossing on your project/card. It can be dry embosssing or the heated embossing. So I went for the run the D'vine swirl thru the cuttlebug look.

I used my Jolly by Golly line of paper (which I am just loving) and punched it with a MS punch.
Using the Justrite stamp I was able to put whatever saying I wanted onto my card. I thought Tilda looked "ALL BUNDLED UP". I then added the ity bitty mittens from Karen Lockhart stamps. My images were coloured with copics, lyras and prismas!

his and hers...

Happy Friday all...
Today I made a card using an image from Whipper Snapper. I thought it was so cute to use for a
wedding shower gift card. Whipper Snapper has there Fall/Winter collection out and it has some really cute images. I embossed the towel bar with CTMH silver embossing powder, ran the background thru the cuttlebug and then added some Papertrey aqua mist ribbon, some pearls and MS twine to my card. I'm always about simplicity with cards! Well...I am off to check out the challenge over at Just Magnolia. Have a great day!

Yeh...pink and green combo!

Well how about using the colour combo pink and green... over at the Cute Card Thursday challenge that is exactly what they have for us this week. I was so happy I LOVE those two
colours together. I used an image I actually forgot I had, it is from the sunshine designs collection. I swiss dotted the background and used the MS dollie punch and then tried to distress the scallops a little. I hope you have a chance this week to join them over at the challenge. They have an amazing prize this week...which is always such a great perk!

Happy Wednesday to all...Well here we are this week with another Bellarific Friday sketch from
Stamping Bella. The sketch they provided is one I love..nice and simple! I used "cuddly owlies"
from the stamping bella line! I coloured with lyras and prismas and just added some white gel pen polka dots just to give my big gal some personality!

the world is your snowball..

This morning was the first day back to school for my son, my daughter started last week. So now we are hopefully back into some routine! I really miss when they go back as they are alot of fun to have around! But it is also nice to get back to the regular routine. Yesterday I made a card using Karen Lockharts ity bity stamps. I really like using these little guys as you can stamp them unto envelopes to match your card if like! I coloured them with copics and used a white gel pen just to put the little polka dots on the mitts! Not to sure why I am making winter cards when finally the weather is so nice out!

pumpkins for sale...

Happy Holiday Monday... I hope you are all enjoying a holiday Monday, the day before the kids go back to school!

Today I pulled out Tilda with her little pumpkin and coloured her all up with lyras and prismas. I bought some orange stickles to sparkle up her little pumpkin. I really like that stuff. So I am hoping to use it a lot more.
I used the new MS punch with the pumpkins. The next couple of weeks it will be time to head to the pumpkin patches to pick out our favourite pumpkin to place on our porches!

Snowmen fall from heaven UNASSEMBLED...

Over at Winter Wonderland they have a new challenge for us...and this one I LOVE! You make a card/project with snowmen! Well..this had me written all over it! I love SNOWMEN! So out came my Papertrey stamp set from last year ( that I love) called "Made of Snow". I actually made this last year but thought it was perfect for this challenge. I wanted a little kit so that when little kids built a snowman they would have the hat, mitts, eyes and mouth all in box. You just had to assemble the snowman! I bought the box at the dollar store and just stamped right unto the box! I just pieced the scarf!

Here is a picture below of the top of the box:

The guest designer for Winter Wonderland this week is "Rachel" . So be sure to check out her blog. Pop over to Winter wonderland and see what everyone else has been up too! Great stuff!

Friendship is sewn with love...

... and measured by kindness. Just Magnolia has provided us with a sketch, which made things very easy. I always like sketches! I used Papertreys sentiment from the set "Quilters Sampler". Coloured with copics and the faces I coloured with prismas.

Below is the sketch we had to follow:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket-Honey Pie
Ribbon: Papertrey (sweet blush)
Buttons: Stamping Bella
Stamps: Magnolia, Papertrey
Embossing: Cuttlebug

Daisy...

Here we are the first day of a long weekend. I'm not to sure where our sun is. Today I pulled out a favourite sugar nellie stamp I just LOVE. She is called DAISY. Don't you just love her. Her sweetness, her little wreath of flowers on her head. I coloured her with prismas and just stamped her on a circle nestie. I kept her pretty simple as I think she is all about the simple life!
Have a fantastic weekend...I hope the sun pops out were ever you are!

For my teacher..

Yeh it's Friday and a long weekend is upon us! Cute Card Thursday has a perfect challenge for us this week. It's "Back to School". So today I used Vintage Picnic and Trajan: Monogram Edition
from Papertrey. I placed the letters on a block and then stamped them to fill my sheet of cardstock that was going on the card. I used the Vintage picnic stamp to put the apples in the basket, the sentiment is in that stamp set as well. I coloured with copics and there you have my entry for the Cute Card Thursday challenge!

From me to ewe....

Another beauty September day here in Ontario!
For this card I chose an elzybells image that I actually masked. I had one image of the sheep and I wanted to have two of these little guys. I coloured with prismas and ran my flower embossed template thru the cuttlebug. I bought this handy dandy punch from Stampin Up' that is just a perfect size to run ribbon thru it! Now I am off to see what is happening at the
Cute Card Thursday Challenge for this week! Have a fantastic day!

Scallop Mania!

Good Wednesday to all, a cool start but a sunny one! This week I decided to join in on the fun over at Stamptacular's challenge. The challenge that they are offering this week is to have scallops somewhere on your card. Not a hard task for me as I just love scallops! I just purchased a new scalloped MS punch at stamping bella. My sentiment "let it snow" and " polar bear circle" both came from stamping bella. I made some swirls on my card by using a glue pen and glitter. Coloured with copics, lyras and prismas!

First day back...

Here it is the first day back to school for my daughter, my son starts next week. Lucky for him, he has another week off! I made my daughter a card just to make her day alot easier. I used my stamping bella stamp called "woofin it up" and the sentiment is from stamping bella as well. I used my lyras AND prismas for this card. I also sponged with versa magic (sold at stamping bella) wheat colour. Last monday we went to stamping Bella for a class that was headed by the ever so talented Paula. She taught the class how to do grass on the bottom of your images. I have been trying so hard to perfect this! It will take some time to have it looking like the Paula's! Oh well..I do love a challenge! Hope you are enjoying some very nice weather were ever you are!

I also want to thank each and every one of you who visits and leaves a comment. I absolutely love to read them...it always makes my day brighter!
